Gas extinguishing systems are the method of choice when valuable equipment or other objects sensitive to water are in danger. On this account, extinguishing gases protect valuable objects in two ways; they prevent damage caused by fire and water. The general principle of extinguishing gases is the suffocation of the combustion due to displacement of oxygen.
